Where did the name come from
ḏḥwtj is the Egyptian pronunciation of the ancient Egyptian god Thoth ( Djehuty ), which means “He who is like the Ibis.”. Thoth was the god of the moon, sacred texts, mathematics, the sciences, magic, messenger and recorder of the deities, master of knowledge, and patron of scribes. Thoth was a powerful deity in ancient Egypt, and he was often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis.
